On March 4th @ 6:00 PM, the Tampa Flash, Flex, and AIR Developers Group will be hosting Ben Forta, Kevin Hoyt, and Greg Wilson of Adobe. They will be covering a plethora of topics covering ColdFusion, Flex, AIR, and BlazeDS. The TFFADG just started up last year and looks to be having great success, so if anyone can make the trip out to Tampa to support our fellow user group, this is definitely a great meeting to attend. Thanks to Zach, Darryl, Frank, and Doug for making it out to the meeting tonight.  Doug gave us a great introduction to installing and working with LCDS.  He gave examples of working with the data management api including the Conflict class and the SQL assembler.  Doug lost his presentation 2 days ago, so he did a great job getting code ready in such a short time. Thanks to Zach and Darryl as well for providing the AV equipment this evening.  It was great to finally all see the same thing on a much bigger screen; also thanks to Frank for providing the essential extension cord that we needed to get power to the projector.

Our friends over at the Brevard branch of Florida Creatives have started meeting regularly on the last Thursday of the month.  This month, they will be meeting on 02/26/2009 @ 6:00 PM at Grill 192.  Looks like they’ve got a good turn out going with lots of networking going on.  If anyone has the evening free, definitely check it out.  You can find more information about the group @ http://floridacreatives.com/group/brevard.

After some discussion last month, we decided that Charlie and Jake’s was getting a bit noisy, so we’re going to give Indian River Coffee Company at Pineda Ridge a try this month.  They stay open until 9:00 PM which is usually when we finish up anyway, so we’ll see how it goes.  Our meeting time, however, will remain the same, starting at 7:00 PM on February 19th.  Zach and Darryl have offered to bring in their projector and projection screen this time around, so we’re going to give that a try as well which should free us from squinting at each other’s laptops.  This month Doug has graciously offered to present on “Installing and Using LiveCycle Data Services”.  LiveCycle Data Services (LCDS) is the commerical counterpart to BlazeDS from Adobe which offers some powerful proxy, remoting, messaging, and data management options for Flex development.
